A Dutch engineer builds his own answer
Netherlands · supplied account
The supplied story describes Maarten de Bruijn’s Silvestris as a lightweight sports car powered by an Audi V8, developed by the end of the 1990s. His small engineering operation had a different starting point from Ferrari, with its established facilities and racing experience. The Silvestris gave the later challenge something tangible to rest on: a car De Bruijn had built himself.

The early Spyker story
The benchmark and the challenger.
A remembered exchange places this 360 beside a different ambition: a sports car built in the Netherlands. The date of the exchange remains open.

Could the Silvestris be better?
Location and date not established
According to the supplied eyewitness account, Maarten de Bruijn challenged Victor R. Muller with the claim that his Silvestris was a better sports car than Muller’s new Ferrari. The account identifies chassis 118037 as that Ferrari. It goes on to describe the collaboration between De Bruijn’s engineering and Muller’s commercial ambition that helped revive Spyker. The remembered exchange gives that collaboration a personal setting: an entrepreneur with a new Ferrari, and an engineer confident enough to challenge it.
The Ferrari is remembered as a benchmark in the conversation. The supplied account does not establish a comparative test result or that this exchange caused Spyker’s revival.

The C8 reaches the public
Birmingham, United Kingdom
Spyker’s published history dates the presentation of the C8 Spyder at the British International Motor Show in Birmingham to 17 October 2000. It also records Victor R. Muller’s role in the marque’s return. That gives the recollection a wider historical setting, separate from the Ferrari’s own ownership record.

Netherlands · historical summary
The supplied registration summary reports that the last known APK validity expired in March 2014. It also describes a limited ownership history, suggesting one registered owner. Neither point establishes where the Ferrari went next. Its later ownership, location and present specification remain open questions.
