Our method · The record of your Ferrari
We keep the record of your Ferrari
We research your Ferrari by chassis number, document what we can establish and show which parts of its history are still missing.
Inside Maranello Data
The work behind the record
Why we do this
Every Ferrari will outlive the people who own it.
Its history should outlive them too.
For decades it sat in drawers, garages and memories nobody could search.
Now the pieces can be found, read side by side and kept.
So we keep them, for whoever holds the keys next.
New archives join regularly. A record that looks finished today can still grow.

01 · How we do it
From scattered paper to one record
A car’s past is rarely in one place. It turns up in archives, auction catalogues, workshop drawers and family albums.
Find
We search our archive and our partners’ by chassis number. Former owners and workshops add what they kept.
Check
Each piece is traced to its source and compared with the rest. A repeated claim doesn’t count twice.
Keep
Everything goes in order, with its source. The gaps and open questions stay in plain view.

How we check a history claim
An account, a document and a checked detail carry different weight. Follow one example: a car that was repainted.
A former owner remembers a repaint
“I remember having the car repainted.”
A named person’s account, without reviewed supporting documents.
A useful lead. It does not confirm when or how the work was done.
An invoice records the repaint
- Document
- Dated workshop invoice
- Work listed
- Exterior repaint
We note the invoice’s date and who supplied it.
There is written evidence. Its origin and reliability still need checking.
The workshop confirms it issued the invoice
- Check made
- Issuing workshop contacted
- Result
- Workshop confirms the invoice is its own
We record the check, who made it and when.
Who issued the invoice. It does not verify every detail of the work or the whole car.
These labels apply to individual claims, not the entire car. Conflicting accounts stay visible.

Start with your Ferrari
Ask what information may be available for your Ferrari. Start with a free Chassis Check; you can decide on a private Chassis File afterwards.
Run a Chassis CheckWho can see my record?
Your Chassis File is private. The public Register contains selected, approved stories without private documents or personal details. Ask us about arranging access for a new owner; sharing permissions and previous owners’ privacy need to be checked.
What happens when you find more?
Chassis File (€395) includes 12 months of checks and alerts; new information costs extra. Chassis Plus (€1,395) includes 24 months and all discoveries through our archive and research partners during that period.
Private purchases and owner-funded rewards are separate under both options. After the included period, optional checks and alerts cost €99/year; further information costs extra. You keep everything already delivered without renewing.
Where does the information come from?
Our archive and research partnerships span the USA and Europe. We are building our network in Japan. What is available varies by car.
Former owners, workshops and other contributors can also offer material separately. Any purchase or owner-funded reward is agreed in advance; voluntary contributions are welcome. A workshop may be a research partner or a private contributor. We explain which terms apply before any charge.
What if two accounts disagree?
We show the disagreement and explain any later correction. Copies of the same document do not count as independent confirmation. For a question that needs a dedicated investigation, explore Maranello Forensics.
Will there be a printed edition?
A printed edition and numbered certificate are in development and excluded from both digital options. The certificate will identify the file and edition; it will not authenticate the car or replace an inspection or Ferrari Classiche.
Will I be able to check whether a file has changed?
A feature in development will let you compare your copy with the issued version. Editing the contents changes its check code.
